BioMany people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide. Two of these were wrong; Heaven is not in England, whatever certain poets may have thought, and angels are sexless unless they really want to make an effort. But he was intelligent. And it was an angelic intelligence which, while not being particularly higher than human intelligence, is much broader and has the advantage of having thousands of years of practice. From Good Omens

Age: Over 6,000 years old
Job: Former guard of the East Gate of Eden, was there at the Fall of Man. For the last 6,000 years, he has been the agent for God on Earth. Disguises himself as a second hand book shop owner in Soho.
Description: Slightly plump, well dressed, well manicured, see above quote for what people think of him.
Manner of Dress: "On those occasions when the angel managed to get his mind into the twentieth century, it always gravitated to 1950." - Crowley, Good Omens. Aziraphale is fond of tartan.
